Section 2648

2648. The movable property of the debtor which furnishes his main residence, used by and necessary for the life of the household, may be exempted from seizure to the extent fixed by the Code of Civil Procedure, except where such movables are seized for sums owed on the price.
The same rule applies to instruments of work needed for the personal exercise of a professional activity, except where such movables are seized by a creditor holding a hypothec thereon.
